UC-II® Undenatured Type II Collagen

UCII Graph.jpg

UC-II is:

  • Ground chicken sternum cartilage containing naturally occurring type II collagen

  • Our process does not denature type II collagen or alter the characteristics of chicken sternum-derived proteins.

UC-II Supports:

  • Modulation of the immune system to beneficially alter the immune response to cartilage debris

  • Rebuilding of natural joint cartilage

  • Increased mobility and flexibility

Research conducted on more than 100 osteoarthritic dogs showed:

  • UC-II® is 50% more effective than glucosamine + chondroitin alone for joint mobility, flexibility and pain

  • UC-II® works faster than glucosamine + chondroitin to reduce pain and improve joint mobility and flexibility

  • 39% greater increase in peak force

  • 59% greater increase in impulse area

Undenatured Type-II collagen is made up of three polypeptide strands in a form of a helix which is twisted together into a right-handed coil – the resulting triple helix is stabilized by numerous hydrogen bonds.

Our UC-II product is manufactured using a patented low temperature process which assures type II collagen in its natural, undenatured form with a chloride salt added to preserve (stabilize) the cartilage and inhibit microbiological activity. We do not chemically alter the chicken cartilage or extract the type II collagen. Chicken cartilage has been in the food chain for generations and has been issued a new dietary ingredient approval from the FDA.
